Leaving for Interlochen Arts Academy in 20 days!

I could not be more excited to be spending the next four years at the place I love the most. Located at the heart of Traverse City, Interlochen Arts Academy is a fine arts boarding high school whose overall goal is to enhance the quality of life through the universal language of the arts. I have attended Interlochen Arts Camp - an annual summer camp for young artists - for three years. My first year I was in the youngest division of students - artists ranging from ages 8 to 13 - and I majored in general arts. As a general artist, I was able to study and try out various majors instead of just sticking strictly to one. The next two years I majored in Musical Theatre and performed alongside many talented middle schoolers who, like me, shared a passion for performing and the arts. I loved every minute of it as Interlochen Center for the Arts has always been my happy place. I am beyond thrilled and so so grateful to be able to spend the next four years working with other artists as we continue to make the world a better place using the magical power of the arts. I will be majoring in Theatre Performance and will be entering as a freshman. I am ready to become a Michigan girl and eat lots of cherries as Traverse City, Michigan is known for its annual cherry festival. However, I am also going to have to buy a nice warm winter coat and comfy boots. Living in San Francisco, California I fear I do not know what being cold really feels like as I am sitting in my room and it is 75 degrees and I am wrapped up in a big blanket and still shivering!!
